A great example of Australia’s very first Holden, this 48-215 has even more local flavour presenting in an Australian themed wrap. This iconic vehicle is in good all-round condition. It represents a rare opportunity to own one of the most important vehicles in Australian motoring history.

Featuring a six-cylinder ‘Grey’ motor and a three-speed column shift transmission, this example drives very well for its age. Interestingly, this early Holden has a unique history - returning to Australia in 2015 after being in Switzerland and the Czech Republic for over 30 year. This 48-215 retains its Owner’s Manual, import approval documentation and owner’s delivery receipt dated 5/12/1951 from Preston Motors in Melbourne. With excellent provenance and a unique story, this classic Holden would make an ideal collectible.

The first mass-produced six-seater car produced in Australia, it was advertised at the time being able to achieve 30 miles per gallon and reach 80 miles per hour. With its American design origins and closely resembling the larger Chevrolet of the period the first Holden sedan was very well received and quickly adopted by a motoring public anxious to get “Australia’s very own car.”
