De Tomaso unleashed the Pantera (Italian for Panther) to the world in 1971. It followed other manufacturers like Iso in combining and Italian built and designed body with an American Ford drivetrain. Beauty and passion meet power and reliability. Due to the emissions crisis in the US at the time, two variants were made, one for the US market and one for Europe/Rest of World. The US spec cars were detuned in power to meet strict emissions laws. In 1973 the GTS model variant was introduced and featured a new interior and body design with flared guards, larger wheels, rear spoiler and two-tone paint scheme with GTS decals. The engine was also upgraded to a 351 cu in 5.8L Cleveland V8 producing 330bhp with a top speed of 256km/h. This vehicle is a genuine GTS and was originally sold new in Germany in 1973. It spent many years there until being sold to a prominent De Tomaso collector in Puerto Rico in the 1990s. It then made its way up to the US until the previous owner purchased the vehicle from a dealer in Florida and imported it into Australia in the mid-2000s. The car is in unrestored condition however it has had a respray during its time in Puerto Rico. The vehicle come with a very large file of receipts and documents that can track its movements as well as the import approval.
